In a few days, I’ll be out of a job. What has led me to this is close to two years of rampant racism at my place of work. Even though I need a job, I couldn’t continue in that toxic environment any longer. I had to save myself from it to be a healthy mother to my kids and wife to my husband. I couldn’t compromise my health — mental and physical any longer. The trauma from this experience is still too raw and I have lost many nights of sleep over it. I’m not ready to talk about all of it yet but suffice to say that workplace racism is particularly nefarious. I write about racism, but there are so many other things I would like to write about instead. Help me dismantle racism so that I can get to that.
